What is a dental veneer?
A veneer is a very thin ceramic shell — between 0.3 and 0.7 mm — bonded to the visible surface of the tooth to correct its shape, shade or alignment without devitalizing it.
- Ultra-thin ceramic, custom-designed for each tooth.
- Minimal or no preparation of the natural enamel.
- A natural, durable result, perfectly integrated with the existing smile.
Main indications
- Discolored teeth that no longer respond to whitening.
- Small fractures, chips or worn edges.
- Spaces (diastemas) between the front teeth.
- Mildly misaligned teeth, when orthodontics is not desired.
How does the treatment work at Le Chesnay?
Each plan begins with a personalized esthetic consultation: photos, smile analysis, digital simulation and a trial mock-up directly on your teeth.
- Smile design and validation of the project with the patient.
- Conservative preparation, digital impressions and a temporary mock-up.
- Bonding of the final ceramic veneers, with shade and shape adjustments.
Veneers, whitening or orthodontics: how to choose?
Veneers are not always the right answer. When the only issue is shade, professional whitening is often enough. When teeth are significantly misaligned, invisible aligners such as Invisalign should be discussed first.
Dr Murciano's role is to suggest the most conservative option that gives a result aligned with your expectations.
